WORST BEAUTY TRENDS 2011

The feather extensions.. It started with the ridiculous oversized feather earrings then someone had a bright idea to start this horrible feather extension trend.  GROSS.  Not only is it FUGLY but one farm has even admitted to killing over 1,500 roosters a week to get them! Guess what, you can even buy them for your dogs. 

The "I got punched in the eye look".  Im sorry but putting black eyeshadow up to your brows isn't cute.  You are not Siouxsie Sioux and it's not the 70's.  Leave it on the runways people.

Don't get me wrong I have experimented with every hair color you can think of but leopard print on shaved heads is got to go! Enough said.

Designer Austin Sherbanenko has created his Spring/Summer 2012 collection based on the idea that every soldier wears a "uniform". Though not every man is in war he finds himself donning a type of "uniform" in his day to day life.  Odyn Vovk is sexy high fashion but functional rugged clothes for men.

MTV Movie Awards 2011

MTV Movie Awards 2011 was filled with tons of highlights this year.  First and foremost I loved Christian Siriano’s red carpet report! The fashion and makeup this year was killer.  Emma Stone had the most simple chic makeup and sexy sophisticated red nails.  Her makeup was definitely my favorite. You can create her makeup look by using Ultra Gloss “Addict” by Dior, soft nude “Argan” Eye shadow by Josie Maran and “Super slick Liquid Liner” in black by MAC Cosmetics.  For a hot shade for red nails I would try out “Salon Effects” nail polish strips by Sally Hansen.

summer day secrets

        For those of you who know me well I wear a dress, hat, chunky boots or wedges almost everyday.  During the day Im very simple and don't like to wear a ton of makeup. A great toner to start the day with is Arcona's Triad Pads.  They refresh and kill bacteria that cause blemishes. I never leave the house without my La Mer UV 30 protecting fluid. To get my smokey eye day time look grab some Smashbox powder eyeliner in black.  For a pouty stained red lip use Burberry Lip Cover soft satin lipstick. To get a sexy sweet smell use CoCo Mademoiselle by Chanel.  After a long day I relax by lighting my brothel scented Modern Alchemy candle and take a relaxing bubble bath using Pure Cosmetics strawberry scented bubble bath!!

With a background in psychology and a fascination with dream states I often stumble upon articles from Jungian theorist and laugh to myself.  However there is something to say about the unconscious energy that manipulates the way we dream and feel every night and day.  We have of course biological, physiological and environmental factors which come into play when projecting our cognitions and perceptions. There is the universal energy and connection with nature that people often dismiss.  

We are one with nature and have been blessed with higher thought. Humans can create, manipulate, love and/or destroy.  You can simply stumble through life numb or run and feel life's energy.  Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet.

Today's weather in LA was so perfect and it sparked that dark summertime magic energy within me. Now its time to start pulling out my favorite spring pieces (baby doll dresses!) and shop for new stuff to add to my wardrobe!   My life has been extremely crazy and I've been so busy with tons of exciting new projects.   LA fashion week is coming up and Im planning and attending tons of events.  With Easter around the corner it's time to hop into 2011 spring/summer fashion. 
Perfect outfit :  Dark plum lips, pastel eyes and kitty cat eyeliner with a creme mesh tutu, cropped poka dot tea and giant black wedges.. crosses and hats!

Im so honored to be walking in the 2nd annual Rock VS. Cancer event that will happen in just 3 week’s time at San Diego’s House of Blues music hall with 100% of proceeds benefiting The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Im pretty sure they are going to let me walk to one of my favorite songs "Kickstart my Heart"!! :)
