Plastic Surgery is the New Makeup "Nip Tuck or Else"

Monday morning routine starts: Shower, wash your face, put on skincare, makeup and now style your hair. Book your nail appointment for Thursday and don't forget eyebrows since that big event is on Saturday!  As you put on your makeup you notice a little wrinkle and as you line your lips you begin to think about how cute you might look with a little more pout.   All your friends have tried it and talked about it over lunch so why not? Botox is a preventative part of a skincare routine. It doesn't hurt AND EVERYONE is doing it!

TIME Magazine released their June 2015 issue Nip Tuck or Else Now everyone get's work done. Will you? I't seems women are having botox parties and no one is bashful about what they get done anymore.   At one point in the early 1900's women were buying makeup under the table and sneaking around to have their hair dyed.  Can you imagine? Black market makeup? Now this new generation is the first to accept that plastic surgery is the norm and it is here to stay.  The real key is the less painless, noninvasive treatments like juvederm (numbing with lidocaine) and botox. Or freezing fat cells away using the new Coolsculpting technology. Companies have now equipped their laser machines with methods to keep hair and tattoo removal nearly pain free!  These treatments work and have lasting results. The best part is that you can sneak away on a lunch break from work, have a treatment and head back.  There is literally no downtime with many of these noninvasive procedures.  It's genius.

Feminist Jennifer Cognard-Black Professor of English, Women and Sexuality Studies at St Mary's College of Maryland said "I would have said getting your boobs done or tummy flattened is not feminist, and now I'm really not sure".  In 2013 almost 300,000 breast augmentations were performed nation wide. That's a 35% increase since 2000, Plasticsurgery.org.  This excludes fat grafting to the breast and breast reconstruction which is performed for breast cancer survivors after undergoing a mastectomy.

Even studies show how acceptable cosmetic enhancement is.  An MSN survey stated that in 2014 62% of people finding out a friend had work done thought "good for them".  Another study from American Society of Dermatologist released that 52% of Americans were considering having aesthetic treatments.  "That's a 30% increase in two years. Cosmetic Surgery has become the new makeup" Joel Stein Time Magazine.

Brazil & Columbia are considered to be filled with the most beautiful exotic women. No wonder there is a high correlation with plastic surgery procedures.  In Columbia over 500 clinics are available and in Medillin there are programs offered to the poorest communities for free plastic surgery.  In the 80's and 90's Pablo Escobar was featured in Forbes Magazine 227 Billionaires.  The drug lord and his Medillin Cartel were obsessed with women and body image so it became the evolution of social status for their country.   "No tits, no paradise". Jono Cusack  With cheaper price quotes and combos for breast augmentation, tummy tucks and Lipo etc. one must be very cautious about surgeries performed in South America.  There are high number's of botched procedures leaving people disfigured coming back to America only needing more surgery in the long run.

With plastic surgery and noninvasives becoming the next beauty trend it's always important to choose a board certified plastic surgeon and do your research.  It's worth it.
